Mr. Buckley has more than 35 years of experience in health care leadership and has worked for a number of Catholic and Not-for-Profit hospitals and health systems. He has held leadership positions with the Mercy Health System in Ohio; Catholic Healthcare West in Arizona; and St. Anthony’s in Amarillo, Texas. From 1992 to 2001 he served as President/CEO of Southern Illinois Healthcare Enterprises, a multihospital system in southern Illinois. As President and CEO of St. Joseph Health System, Buckley is responsible for day-to-day operations of St. Joseph Regional Health Center and supports a variety of St. Joseph corporations and more than a dozen St. Joseph facilities in a County region of East Central Texas, including three critical access hospitals, two long term care facilities and eight rural clinics

Bob Corrigan, a partner who joined Fulbright & Jaworski L.L.P.’s Houston office in 1988, practices exclusively in the health care area where he represents hospitals, medical schools, physician groups and other health care entities and providers in business and regulatory matters. Bob chairs the firm’s Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (“HIPAA”) Task Force and is currently advising firm health care clients, including hospitals, medical schools and physician groups on HIPAA and state law privacy standards.

Paul Herndon is the Chief Operating Officer for CHRISTUS Medical Group (CMG) in Houston, Texas. Paul joined CMG in the Fall of 2007 and serves as Vice President for the Board of C. H. Wilkinson Physician Network, dba CHRISTUS Medical Group. He holds a BS degree in Accounting from the University of Houston, Clearlake and is a Certified Public Accountant. Paul’s 18 years experience in operations (accounting, consulting, small business development and healthcare administration) allow him to interface directly with CMG regional directors and clinic managers helping them to each improve and/or maintain their Business Literacy and Service Quality goals on CMG’s Journey to Excellence. Prior to joining CHRISTUS Medical Group, Paul served as CFO and VP of MSO Finance with Texas Children’s Pediatric Associates in Houston. Paul maintains an active role in professional associations throughout the Houston area, including, but not limited to, Curriculum Advisory Board member for the University of Houston Healthcare Administration and President of the Alvin Community College Foundation. He is also a member of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), Medical Group Management Association (MGMA) and Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). Paul resides in Alvin, TX with his wife and two children and enjoys auto racing, hunting, fishing and anything involving water.

John C. Goodman, Ph.D.

National Center for Policy Analysis - Washington, DC

John C. Goodman, Ph.D. founded the NCPA in 1983 and has served as President since the center's inception. The Wall Street Journal called Dr. Goodman "the father of Health Savings Accounts," and National Journal declared him "winner of the devolution derby" because his ideas on ways to transfer power from government to the people have had a significant impact on Capitol Hill. Dr. Goodman is the author of nine books, including Lives at Risk: Single-Payer National Health Insurance Around the World; Leaving Women Behind: Modern Families, Outdated Laws; Economics of Public Policy, a widely used college textbook, and Patient Power: Solving America's Health Care Crisis, the condensed version of which sold 300,000 copies and is credited with playing a pivotal role in the defeat of the Clinton administration's plan to overhaul the U.S. health care system.
Dr. Goodman regularly appears on television, including PBS' The NewsHour with Jim Lehrer, CNN, CNBC and the Fox News Channel. He was a debater on several of William F. Buckley Jr.'s Firing Line shows, and has appeared on a number of two-hour prime time debates, including debates on the flat tax, welfare reform and Social Security privatization.
He regularly briefs members of Congress on economic policy issues and frequently testifies before congressional committees.

Mr. Ceverha has experience since 1990 in data, technology, and system architecture design, as well as project and program management. He has consulted with clients in Provider, Payer, and Life Sciences sectors, including roles as program manager, industry expert, and technical architect. He has served provider clients with clinical visioning, as well as planning and executing clinical system implementations. Additionally, Paul has experience crafting system integration solutions for financial services, the travel industry, and a global scientific data consortium. These efforts have included both intra- and inter-enterprise solutions. He has extensive experience in and broad knowledge of clinical informatics. His recent focus has been on enabling healthcare business processes through novel approaches and partnerships in healthcare informatics. These projects have incorporated evidence-based medicine initiatives, product R&D and safety programs, clinical quality measurement and reporting, and research support. He has functioned as the solution architect for eHealth, clinical transformation, and clinical data repositories.

Mr. Moore joined ROi in April of 2002 after 17 years in healthcare with Baxter, Allegiance, Cardinal Health and the healthcare division of the UPS Logistics Group. His career has included operational and sales roles in healthcare manufacturing, distribution, consulting, third party logistics, and now provider operations. At ROi, he is responsible for leading the system-wide supply chain management functions from manufacturer to patient bedside for the Sisters of Mercy Health System based in St. Louis. Mercy is comprised of 19 hospitals, 800 integrated physician practices, 69 freestanding outpatient facilities, and numerous other extended healthcare service entities located in Missouri, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Kansas.

Jim’s primary focus is in the operational efficiency service of the practice. He has assisted in the methodology development and has served as a project manager on various engagements. He has also been involved in the development of the 340(b) drug discount savings methodology for the HSAS practice, and has managed numerous of those engagements as well. Mr. McLarty is a nurse with over 25 years of experience in hospital operations, senior leadership roles, and consulting. He has been a Chief Nursing Officer/ Vice-President of Patient Care Services in tertiary and community hospitals. His previous consulting services have focused on performance improvement, management development, productivity enhancement, patient through put, and operational assessments.

Paul Burka joined the staff of TEXAS MONTHLY one year after the magazine's founding. A lifelong Texan, he was born in Galveston, graduated from Rice University with a B.A. in history, and received a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law. Burka is a member of the State Bar of Texas and spent five years as an attorney with the Texas Legislature, where he served as counsel to the Senate Natural Resources Committee. Burka won a National Magazine award for reporting excellence in 1985 and the American Bar Association’s Silver Gavel Award. He is a member of the Texas Institute of Letters and teaches at the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin. He is also a frequent guest discussing politics on national news programs on MSNBC, Fox, NBC, and CNN.
